Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers, I hope this message finds you well and brings a sense of connection and unity. Today, I am reaching out with a special request that involves gratitude, the warm spirit of community, and the enduring impact of one remarkable woman in education.

While visiting a friend in Boston, my mom suffered a devastating stroke. My brothers and I are trying to raise money for Mom’s medical expenses, specifically a medical flight back to Houston. My mother was a career educator who touched many lives during her journey. She has dedicated her life to caring for her family, friends, co-workers, and students, and now she needs our help. Although Mom is strong, and we believe she will recover from her stroke, the doctors also found a mass on her heart that will require surgery. The teams in Boston that have been taking care of Mom are excellent, but the truth is people do not recover well when they are so far away from their families and loved ones. We believe Mom has the best chance of a long-term recovery if we can get her back to Houston, where we can all lift her up and surround her with love. Now, it is our turn to take care of her like she has taken care of so many of us in the past. Please help us get Judith home, where she can continue to heal and be surrounded by the people who love her the most.
